Broyles & Broyles Mechanical founded (family roots)

In Fort Worth, Texas, Jim and Clyde Broyles establish Broyles & Broyles Mechanical—family roots that shaped Pacific Rim Mechanical's future.
OUR JOURNEY
We've come a long way since the 1980s. What started as a small mechanical contractor with a big vision has grown into a trusted leader in the design, construction, and maintenance of critical infrastructure across Southern California. Decade by decade, we've evolved—expanding our capabilities, deepening our expertise, and building lasting partnerships along the way. Our journey reflects a commitment to excellence, innovation, and the values that have guided us from the very beginning.

In Fort Worth, Texas, Jim and Clyde Broyles establish Broyles & Broyles Mechanical—family roots that shaped Pacific Rim Mechanical's future.

Terry Broyles earns a degree in Organizational Management (University of Houston) and joins the family firm. Ted Keenan graduates in Mechanical Engineering (University of Iowa) and begins at The Trane Company in La Crosse, WI. Both gain deep technical expertise and a shared passion for doing things the right way.

Working together in Sales at a large San Diego mechanical contractor, Terry and Ted break records and develop the blueprint values—integrity, performance, partnership—that will guide Pacific Rim Mechanical.

With support from Jim Broyles, Terry Broyles and Ted Keenan establish Pacific Rim Mechanical—a merit shop built on technical excellence, quality craftsmanship, and genuine care for people.

Pac Rim completes its first biotech project—a cleanroom for Hybritech—laying the foundation for decades of life sciences expertise.

Pac Rim starts its Service Group and expands its offerings beyond construction.

Pac Rim delivers initial cGMP process piping projects for Telios Pharmaceutical and Alliance Pharmaceutical in La Jolla, CA—establishing trust in regulated environments.

As part of Encompass Services, Pac Rim is awarded the Pfizer Campus in La Jolla—one of the region’s most recognized research campuses.

After Encompass Services files for bankruptcy, Southern California operations continue uninterrupted; Terry Broyles, Ted Keenan, and senior managers reacquire Pac Rim, restoring independent ownership.

Post‑reacquisition, Pac Rim consolidates multiple locations into a centralized Santa Ana office—improving collaboration and efficiency.
