We are proud to announce that the Loma Linda University Cogen Project earned First Place at the ABC SoCal 2024 Excellence in Construction Awards.

Pac Rim Mechanical retrofitted twin cogeneration systems with SCR units, economizers, ammonia and urea skids, and a CEMS, significantly improving emissions performance while maintaining continuous power generation for a critical hospital campus.

The project required replacing major stacks and integrating new SCR systems to meet AQMD standards, while ensuring only one cogeneration unit was offline at any given time. Through a detailed pull plan schedule and disciplined multi trade coordination, our team safely executed demolition, installation, and commissioning while the parallel unit remained operational.

The result was a project completed safely, on schedule, and fully compliant with AQMD requirements, delivering cleaner and more reliable power without disrupting hospital operations. This recognition reflects the dedication, collaboration, and technical excellence of everyone involved.
