Equipment installation included (2) 500 ton chillers, open system cooling tower, steam boiler, HHW boiler, (7) air handlers, exhaust fans, fan coil units, vacuum pump, compressed air, RO/DI system, LN2 piping, CO2 piping, natural gas piping. |
Current ProjectLoma Linda University Centennial ComplexPac Rim is providing the HVAC and plumbing scope of work for this $60M, 150,000 sf university laboratory and educational facility. The building is a four story steel and concrete structure that will contain anatomy laboratories, lecture halls, and class rooms. The mechanical portion of the project is valued at roughly $10M. It features hydronic utilities with pipe sizes up to 30” in diameter including systems such as chilled water, heating hot water, steam, and pressurized condensate return. The air side has 12 air handlers with up to 43,000 cfm each, 3 laboratory fume exhausters, and 24 general exhaust fans. The plumbing services include standard drainage systems, laboratory waste, domestic and industrial water, RO / DI water, laboratory gases, compressed air, and vacuum systems. Pac Rim coordinated all of these utilities along with other trades utilizing the latest 3D modeling and prefabrication technologies available. The job is on budget and scheduled for completion in early 2009. |
Previous ProjectCancerVax cGMP Pharmaceutical Manufacturing FacilityPacific Rim Mechanical provided HVAC, plumbing and process piping for the CancerVax project, a $4.1M pharmaceutical manufacturing facility located in Marina Del Rey, California. Pac Rim was brought on board because of a successful experience that the team had on a previous project. Working closely with the design team early on, Pac Rim was able to get an understanding of the requirements and get a jump on what was to become an extremely tight installation. The project was built into an existing office space. A new mezzanine was added specifically to accommodate the mechanical systems. The space was very limited and the amount of ductwork installed was incredible. The project was so mechanically intensive that all of the ductwork on a single floor could not be seen on a two dimension drawing. |
