Pala Casino Phase 2 was a 110,000 square foot remodel and expansion project which took place in an occupied and operating gaming casino and restaurant. During construction the High Limits gaming area stayed in operation. Pacific Rim Mechanical provided plumbing and HVAC installation including 14 new rooftop units ranging in size from 40 tons to 100 tons, 31 kitchen exhaust fans UL rated for grease, welded grease ductwork, 1,297 grilles, registers and diffusers, hydronic piping consisting of chilled water and heating hot water, 400 ton air cooled chiller, 8 custom make-up air units, 7 split systems, 2 Liebert computer room units, 3 Trane intellipak units with Semco heat energy recovery wheels, 44 fire / smoke dampers, and a 15,000 cfm smoke exhaust fan. Extensive coordination was required with the Pala Facilities Director, Swinerton Builders, the Food and Beverage Director, and the Security and Gaming Commission.
