Contract Amount:
$1,800,000

Start / Completion Date:
April 2009 / December 2010

The City of Hope Central Chiller Upgrade project featured the largest absorption chiller west of Texas at the time of installation.  Weighing over 130,000 lbs., it is rated for 2000 tons of chilled water capacity.  This project was a mechanical prime delivery method in which all subcontractors were managed by Pacific Rim Mechanical.  Our scope included cutting an opening in the side of the masonry wall to install the behemoth chiller into the structure.  Existing slabs were removed and new foundations were set.  Large piping support structures were built and chilled and condenser water up to 24” diameter were installed.  This project was administered by OSHPD.
